Helen Shafer Garcia will lead a watercolor and mixed media workshop at Rancho La Bellota May 19-23. Helen is an international workshop leader and award winning Artist, Illustrator, Instructor and avid gardener. She will have a unique focus for this private group and will also instruct on the contemporary approaches to watercolor and mixed media she is known for. Surface textures, composition, stamping, collage, and journal making will be explored. Pigment qualities, color theory, and design will also be covered with demos, critiques and individual instruction on location. Custom stamps will be carved to enhance your paintings and hand made journals.
At any level of experience, Helen will focus your creativity to visually express what inspires you. Scenery includes beautiful ranch and vineyard settings, sycamore canyons, horses, sheep, poetic oak groves, dramatic mountain views, and the iconic 1930’s style architecture of this beautiful working ranch. The natural landscape and the horses which roam the 2,800-acre property supply varied subjects for an intriguing artistic journey.

Cost includes: *Professional workshop instruction, 4 nights lodging and 12 meals at Rancho La Bellota, horseback riding (you must be able to mount your horse from the ground to participate), all transportation in Mexico, and winery tour in Valle de Guadalupe. Optional wine purchases are paid on your own. Workshop size is limited to provide individual attention and instruction.
